2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament Favorites

The following teams are considered the odds-on favorites to win the 2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament:

South Carolina Gamecocks (-120)

The South Carolina Gamecocks are the women’s College Basketball odds-on favorites to win the tournament. Dawn Staley’s squad is looking to become the 10th team in NCAAW basketball history to go undefeated on the season.

This team was in a similar position last year before running into Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023 Final Four. Clark and her team pulled off the upset.

Now, South Carolina hopes to have learned from last year’s failure by steamrolling the field as the #1 overall team in the Women’s NCAA Tournament.

Iowa Hawkeyes (+550)

According to the NCAAW odds today, courtesy of the top College Basketball betting sites, Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes are a distant second behind the Gamecocks. However, the Hawkeyes also earned a #1 seed as they’re the top team in the Albany 2 Regional.

This year, Iowa and South Carolina wouldn’t potentially meet until the championship game. One can only hope that this is the matchup we get: the sport’s best player in Clark versus the sport’s top team.

LSU Tigers (+900)

The 2023 NCAAW Champions have a tough road to repeating as National Champions. At +900 NCAAW betting odds, sportsbooks appear to give the LSU Tigers more credit than the so-called women’s basketball experts do.

The Tigers are the #3 seed in the Albany 2 Regional and could potentially meet the #2 seed UCLA Bruins in a Sweet 16 matchup. If lucky enough to win, LSU would then face the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite 8 round. Although the Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes in the 2023 NCAAW Championship game last year, Iowa appears to be the better team this time around.

USC Trojans (+5000)

If there’s a team that’s being overlooked by the sports betting sites, it’s the USC Trojans. Led by freshman star JuJu Watkins, the Trojans earned a #1 seed in the Portland Region, but are still considered a longshot to win the title with a +5000 women’s NCAA basketball line.

USC won the Pac-12 tournament for the first time in 10 years and secured a #1 seed for the first time since 1986. Watkins is the second-best scorer in the sport, only behind Clark. However, this team is not a one-woman show as they have a balanced squad, talented depth and led by a solid coach in Lindsay Gotlieb.

USC’s road to a championship would have to go through teams like Ohio State, UConn, Virginia Tech and potentially a Final Four matchup against Iowa. When it comes to college basketball betting systems, taking a flier on a top seeded team, with a superstar player, is a smart way to approach this tournament.

NCAAW Betting Opportunities

If you are wondering how to bet the 2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament, we’ve got you covered. There are numerous ways to approach this thrilling tournament.

The first approach is riding the betting favorite South Carolina while you can still get value. A second approach is placing a bet on the sport’s top star in Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Typically, March Madness is the time of year where superstars shine and there’s no bigger star in NCAAW basketball than Clark.

A third option is to take a flier on a talented team that has long NCAAW basketball odds like the USC Trojans. Freshman sensation JuJu Watkins is the second-best scorer in the sport behind Clark and a superstar in her own right. At +5000 odds, placing a small wager on USC could have a big payout if they win the tournament.

Betting College Basketball Futures

In addition to betting on specific teams, the NCAA women’s tournament has plenty of other betting options like: tournament prop bets, game prop bets, player prop bets, game lines, and more.

However, when betting on College Basketball futures, it’s important that you stay up-to-date on the latest NCAAW news. Handicapping any sport can be challenging. But it’s imperative that you monitor injuries, transactions, and suspensions during the tournament.

Additionally, researching how teams fared during the season against potential Tournament foes in their Region is vital to any Futures bet.

2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Predictions

South Carolina is on a mission. Yes, they lost a ton of talent from last year’s impressive squad, but this year’s team is loaded with versatility and depth. In fact, they appear to be more dangerous than last year’s team led by WNBA #1 pick Aliyah Boston. From defense to three-point shooting, the 2023-24 South Carolina squad is battle-tested and motivated to win.

The Gamecocks should cruise to the Final Four where I expect them to dispatch anyone in their way. I’m hoping we see South Carolina versus Iowa in the Finals. Regardless of who’s opposite of the Gamecocks on April 7th, this team is cutting down the nets for the third time in seven years and adding to their legacy as the 10th undefeated season in NCAAW history.

The Bet: South Carolina Gamecocks -120
